How many Somalis do you think own land back home? Because when they do own land, they tend to own more than 5+ bloodh or whatever it's called. I think most Somali families own some land. They are just poor in cash. I've heard of one that went up to $30K.
I think the kids pay off their weddings by selling one of their family owned ones.
As I've said before Somalis are too marriage obsessed. We need a cultural shift. When I was twenty-two/twenty-three I was focused on pursuing my academic and professional goals. Hustling to make a better life for myself and my family. That stupid Somali bridal page is selling dreams to these young impressionable people. She needs to shut it down.

22/23 is when you are finished college so I don't think that's necessarily a problem, but I agree that Somalis are marriage obsessed. You have to understand mentally they're back home, they're not here. They're here to so called make money, but really they'd like to be back home it's just a shit hole let's be honest. Personally I think there isn't much of an emphasis on much outside of finishing Quran, marriage, and having kids, and it can be toxic to be around and hear.

I blame the women tbh. A majority of these women are asking for $10,000 mehr minimum, I've said this before in another thread.

That's not on the man to decide and he shouldn't pressure her. Somali men have a lot of hidden income, 10k shouldn't be hard to pay. Get to your subclan to contribute. If a Somali man can have hidden wives he can afford 10k.

Like the other poster says raising that amount will not be difficult. Somali men crowdfund wedding/marriage expenses all the time. Two summers ago, a guy from my tribe I didn't know from Adam had his mum call me to ask me to donate to his wedding. Yaab. She had the audacity to say the bride was a good girl and deserves a nice wedding. I told her she'll have to settle for whatever her son can afford and rushed her off the phone.
I agree. I believe that if you don't have enough money to get married you shouldn't get married. Save up alot of money and get married when you have your job, finances, living expenses, and other shit together.

Edit: Somalia isn't necessarily overpopulated it's just that those with 7 kids tend to be the poorest Somalis. They need to be contained.
Somalis need to invest in drilling underground aquifers like Ghaddafis Libya. I think we could host 20 million Somalis, but no more.

I heard Saudi Arabia tried to get into agriculture through tapping out its aquifers, but fucked itself and almost depleted it all within two decades. Now they stopped doing that and mostly import food.
IMO, Somalia can only handle 10 million people without being poor. Any more and it is just sharing a smaller pie.

we are already 20 million. unless the Somalis abroad are not ever planning to return.
the 10 million back home are already starving. they should seriously stop having 10 kids each until we get our shit together. even then, we shouldn't have more than 3 kids per family. at this rate, we could make our situation even worse and turn into one of those overpopulated slums.
