Hopes are high in Somalia where the country has had it's first film screening since the civil war in Somalia that broke out in 1991. I am glad to see a revival in Somalias cultural arts sector. The screening means so much to Somals because it brings back a bit of the past with the joy of seeing people like you and your country creating films for you and others. This is a sign that Somalia is improving and will soon be on the world stage.
Dozens of Somalis posed for selfies and chattered excitedly in rows of red, plush seats as they waited for the start of their country's first movie screening in three decades.
