What country do you think is the best to live in as a Somali in Europe ?

As someone who lived in Scandinavia as a kid but later moved to the middle east, would it be worth it to move back to Scandinavia as an engineer? I currently study somewhere in a country in Europe with a good education system and job prospects but I am open to moving back to Scandinavia due to familiarity and language after finishing studies. The increase in resentment to people with foreign background(especially muslims) is concerning me and could be a sign that I should look somewhere else. Regardless, my end goal is to eventually move to the motherland:banderas: after saving some money and start up something over there.

How do you guys feel about the country that you are currently living in?

I am also envious of the Somalis in America. I was recently in the US and I was really impressed with the Somali Minnesotans. They are running their own businesses and you will find some areas where they are dominating. You will never find anything like this in Europe( I don't know about the UK).

Based on my travels and also my knowledge of the socioeconomics, I'd rank them like this:

1. Norway
2. Switzerland
3. Denmark or Netherlands
4. West Germany
5. Sweden
6. Finland
7. Belgium
8. France
9. Italy

UK is not Europe. Excluded.

Ive always wanted to travel to Switzerland and live there permanently, I’ve seen a couple travel vlogs and read some stuff about the country and already became hooked on the idea.

When it comes to Job prospects, I would place Denmark, Sweden,Netherlands and Germany higher than Norway. Those countries are a lot more innovative and also have better universities. I was greatly disappointed when I was looking to apply for uni in Norway.

Tbh, did that ranking based on average joe perspective.

From an elitist perspective, then actually Germany or France give you the most options (more variety of opportunities due to size).

I know, I know, but still East Germany has massive socioeconomic issues dragging down averages for all of Germany.

Without them, West Germany would rank like Holland in most statistics, but with them it pushes it down near France always.

It doesn't come off as a surprise, given that some 3,5 million East Germans fled between 1945 and 1961 to West Germany. Not to mention the post wall period of the 90's, when former East Germany experienced a second brain drain to former West Germany.

Definitely not UK & Sweden. Plus isn't Norway deporting a lot of Somalis and even taking kids from their parents? That's probably gonna be a no as well. Denmark has a racist government so not good either.

Sweden is still better than France. :siilaanyolaugh:

You have real ghettos in France, but the ones in Sweden are much milder. :samwelcome:
