:kodaksmiley:This is the biggest lie I've heard. I have been on walks with my grandfather and cousins in the countryside and they kept stopping to point out tree types they've never seen or know the names of. I was feeling very hot naturally, and tried to move them on quickly.

Somalis love birds and trees. They have so many names for them.

This is another attempt of Somali westerners attacking Somali culture, whilst knowing nothing about it. It needs to stop.:kodaksmiley:

One word, Khat:mjlol:But seriously, the people of past had 100s of names for trees. When I went back I remember my awowe naming all the trees and they looked all the same to me. It's the arab demand and hunger thats killing our trees. I remember reading somewhere on this forum that in gabiley newly wed couple plant trees. I think all Somali's should do that.

Old somalis did care about the trees but not this generation. Now we're left with greedy maniacs who'll chop 100yr old trees for a bundle of charcoal which with the money, he'll eventually buy khat with it. Take the frankincense trees for an example and people over harvesting, it's the legacy of the civil war to see people departing from moral and social values.
