Somalis don’t value the resources of sea.

Even if we did value the sea, you think we'd be able to capitalise from it? Somalia is under heavy sanctions to the point where fisherman cannot even sell their product internationally, very sad reality. The heavy sanctions have hindered our industrial/economic progress tremendously.
We are not under any economic sanctions.

With the long ass coastline filled with marine life, what do we do?

This administration is bartering fish for Khat and earlier sold fishing rights to the Chinese for $1 million. I remember last year Australia slaughtered 10k camels because they couldn’t afford to feed them due to drought. Somalis were crying and were calling it to be shipped to Somalia. Geeljire only values camels while billions in the sea is stolen every year . Just look even in this forum. We use tuna as an insult to beesha warsangeli

Lol I mean think about they made a word for herding camels Geeljire, that says a lot

When I lived in Laanta Hawada Bossaso, most people ate all kinds of fish. When I recently went back, only coastal people eat it like Xaafuun, Laasqoray, Bossaso and Berbera.

In some regions there was nuclear waste dumping off shore so I doubt people wanna eat fish that glows green at night. Let the indhayar steal those ones but perhaps mutations will cure 68iq :icon lol:

Like @codewebsduh said refrigeration is the main issue so hopefully that's addressed

The Somolilan Federal Government are trading their fish resources for khat. What resource wouldn't the somalians sell

It's a lot better to barter with a sustainable resource than buy khat for half a billion dollars every year like Somaliland does. So humble yourself and reduce the highest drug consumption rate in the world.

You come from a place where people are forced to eat rodents such as porcupines while spending 1/3 of its GDP on drugs. You need to get a reality check, 9/10 men and 1/5 women chew khat in your pseudo nation. Talk about throwing stones in a glass house.

Khat is a drug that we are addicted to, by trading fish for khat we can help grow the fishing industry in Somalia and increase regulation of khat consumption.

It's sad but the reality is Khat is our cultural drug.

Lads, Why so touchy? I'm not disagreeing with you guys. The people of the glorious Sultanates went from eating roots and leaves to survive to trading fish for leaves. It's a natural progression, or regression, back to Sultanship

You went back to a drought in 1881 but in the 21st century, mismanagement and fish taboo is forcing Somalilanders to raise rodents as food while 500 million is spent on drugs. You ought to be ashamed of yourself. Learn from the moral of this topic, value the resources of the sea.

Allowing foreigners to get our fish is not bad per se but we need to be payed more, 1 Million dollars for fishing rights is a joke.
Fish in exchange for khat is also a joke, it would be understandable if it was fish in exchange for khat+ money
