Having Arabic derived words means nothing, even Spanish and Italian have Arabic derived words and nobody complains. Of course for many of these words we have pure Somali word BUT in this day an age the somali word and the Arabic derived one can have slightly different meanings. For example if say Kursi i mean any chair, if I day Gambar I'm specifically talking about the traditional Somali small stool/ chair

Somalis do preserve it, they usually start using 2 words that have similar meaning for different things. Like Wadno and Qalbi. The former is used to refer to Organ member usually used in medical sense and Qalbi in more romantic way.
They should write all these words down and

Even if they did preserve it, Noman French is now basically ingrained in the mordern English language. The list of Norman French words still used to this day is staggering wallahi.

The point is not to try and reintegrate it, languages change, it's to preserve it for historical research
I agree with the guy, the word for foreigner we mostly is literally borrowed from another language while we have indigenous word for it already. Stupid if you ask me. Any loanword who has somali equilavent should not be used. Its logical to have loanwords to stuff introduced to us by others like football ( banooni), fridge ( firinjaar).
Still we should in the future have an agency in the future who creates somali words like in the kacaan government. Im not opposed to loanwords, every language has it, but us somalis have loanwords while clearly having a somali equilevant.
