Those are Ayrab names. Theres nothing wrong with Somalis having names like Michael, John, Moses, Rachel or whatever biblical name that have Ayrab versions.

Im not Sheikhaal. I was formerly a member of a Somali clan with only a Somali name and Somali ancestor.

Has anyone noticed when Somalis name their children after famous gaalos with non biblical names like after athletes, no one says anything and even are cool about it? Double standard. Try to name your kid Kobe or Tiger (Woods) or (Lady) Diana or Barack, many Somali abos and hooyos will have no issue with it.

You guys dont know anything about the entire community like myself; most dont want to engage with western hating personalities on Somali spaces so you wouldn't know. Fobs who came yesterday are more ilbaax than you judgemental Somalis. I know one Somali guy, a cousin of yours, named Valentino (after Bobby Valentino) on his government ID. He legally changed it and his family is fine with it.

Legally changing it is not the same as Somali parents naming you that. You are shifting goalposts. How would you know his parents are fine with it?

Because I know. I also know they're OK with his Polish-Canadian wife but not OK with the sibling that married a Haitian-Canadian. This aligns with Somalis usually having no problem if their grandkids are half cadaan but going apeshit if its a different kind of "madow".
