Why is it the arabs and indians and pakistanis always wear they're traditional dress codes but in Somalia we wear western pants and shirts or suits? The first thing a conquerer does is make you change your dress, then food, then slowly your language and then your mind. The process of conquest is well known.

The western clothes Somalis wear is not suitable for they're climate. You wear clothes based on your climate needs, it's like we dress as if we are in some european ice age culture, we are not.

I would turn Somalia into Strong cultured society. All girls must wear the somali clothing either in public or official capacity to sell our culture to the world.

I would order the men to wear traditional clothing inside Somala all boys and the govt to do the same. I would ban imports of western or asian clothing. If we don't keep our culture alive, our kids will be abused in the future that they just copy others and contribute nothing.

I want theatre like broadway or shakespear institutions listing down all our literature be it poetry, proverbs or anything historical.

I want our kids to be able to attend events yearly to see how they're ancestors lived and survived, I want re-enactments of wars between clans to be shown on the stage, we need to know the story of Somalia. Does Somalia even have a story? if you lack a story this means you are CONQUERED people continously erasing the past and adopting something else.

Yh I guess u have a point. They still have a strong sense of culture tho. Their kemis is still the staple along with other things. We were nomads for most of our 'Somali' civilasation. We didn't strengthen or recorded our history and customs that well. We went from putting butter on our heads to FGM sbx. The Ottomans would wear Western clothing during the last couple hundred years of its death. Let's be real, the real Arabian khamiss isn't similar to the contemporary khamiss. During the time of the prophet they wore a head covering, and clothing similar to an ihram but in different colors.

Nomads are well respcted you fool. A man who owns his cattle and sheep and is the head of the household and delivers the orders is well respected in any corner of the world. The man in profile picture is secure in his clothing and is proud of his ancestry (hence the afro). He is self sufficient in his lifestyle and doesnt rely on the modern world to define him. He is married and has a full head of hair and isnt overweight (like most of thr men on here).
