I want to speak about this ethno-nationalism crap that came about due to colonial era. It's failed policy to unite your people on fear of other people. South Sudan is great example they united on fear of north sudan, then when they were left alone to their own devices, now the real south sudan came out(tribal). The same narrative can be seen in Somalia. We united on colonial hatred not on Somali love.
We tried to hold our nation then on Ethiopia Hatred and when that finished, we armed up as 'jabhad' just like the south sudanese did.
How many enemies can you keep creating for Somalis? how long will it last those enemy projects? because once that enemy project expires, their will be internal competition based on clans eventually, so it was a terrible vision that wasn't intended to last long and that's why our govt collapsed immediately after the ethiopia war not because we were defeated, we didn't have another enemy to unite on and therefore we created 'jabhad' seeking power.
It's quite known a government that is united on external matters when those external matters expire, they will basically eat themselves alive for power. So Ethno-Nationalism was intended to support Ogaden not Somalia in all honesty. The Sayid spread this message because he wanted new 'somali supporters' of 'anti colonialism' and once that project closed, they wanted that legacy to continue to all 'colonial' areas that Somalis found themselves in and eventually to 'Ogadeniya' in the 70s. Ogaden intention was to become the 'rebellion' against anti somalism clans(the elites) and he would've been treated like the american independence heros and formed a somalia like america with ogaden honored.
The problem with Ethno-Nationalism you got 'elites' no matter if their capitalist like rich people, royal houses, military people(knights) in the past and most importantly simply 'different histories an alliances'. Ethno-Nationalism wants the 'high class and low class' to be erased thru 'your all somalis and equal' and they begin to 'remove' and past history, kingoms, alliances, and clan achievements. f*ck this shit, it's even worse then communism.
