Somaliland comes from the term 'Somali lands' because the Sahil for it was known as that time was inhabited by multiple Somali clans, mainly isaaq, dir and warsangeli.

Somaliland is a suitable name, seeing as the area formerly known as the Sahil is still inhabited by the same clans.

Somalia is phonetically aesthetic. Keep it. Italian is said to be the most beautiful language.
