Gadabursi are generally peaceful people however it is the Cisse that are warlike and brutal. In 1847, 2500 Esa fighters descended on the coastal areas and slaughtered a entire village full of Habar Awal women, children and men. A scene from Games of Thrones (The Dothraki horde).

"Their massacres are fearful. In February, 1847, a small sept, the Ayyal Tunis (Sacad Muse), being expelled from Berberah, settled at the roadstead of Bulhar, where a few merchants, principally Indian and Arab, joined them. The men were in the habit of leaving their women and children, sick and aged, at the encampment inland, whilst, descending to the beach, they carried on their trade. One day, as they were thus employed, unsuspicious of danger, a foraging party of about 2500 Eesas attacked the camp: men, women, and children were indiscriminately put to the spear, and the plunderers returned to their villages in safety, laden with an immense amount of booty. A absolute massacre. :pachah1: Well reer Borama fight from time to time but they are generally not known for picking fights too much.

How the hell did you assemble 2500 men in a single day though.:gucciwhat: That takes great organization specially considering this was 19th century.

When you fight all the time on 3 or 4 fronts, you're bound to get good at it

2500 men to massacre a village is excessive use of force I agree. I guess they didn't want a single life to survive in that whole area. :ftw9nwa: It was preplanned mini holocaust.

Nuh Ismail are peaceful people too. They were traditionally merchants but their brother Jibril Abokor are known for their incredible warlike skills. After Issa raid in Bulhar, their other SM brother called Jibril Abokor retaliated leading Jibril Abokor to raid Zeila and Djibouti where Issa got slaughtered even worse, everything looted including women and they extracted tribute by force.

Jibril Abokor had the best horsemen in the north for a reason since they extracted tribute and done karbash that far.

Also, an SNM division called 99 that mostly fought in Awdal saved Issa from Gadabursi terror when Siad Barre armed them and they were expanding into Issa territory.

Lastly, let's not forget Issa last war with HA in Awdal and the USF received help from Djibouti. The men who did the karbash were mostly Jibril Abokor again since the SNM branch was 99 division.

"As commander of the 99 division, General Mohamed Hasan Abdullahi (Jidhif) also established a Somali National Movement military base in Zeila where the SNM occupied the Awdal region for 4 years and successfully defeated attempts by USF militia forces loyal to Djibouti who tried to take advantage of the fall of Siad Barre's Military Junta in 1991 and annex the city of Zeila."
