Somaliland Kicks Ciise to the Curb

They're complaining about not getting any MPs in Somaliland parliament due to recently losing their only token seat which they got from Samaroon in the first place being filled by another Samaroon after their MP passed away. And no representation within the National Electoral Commission.

Now as it stands the 13/13 MPs representating Awdal are all Samaroon. So are the representatives in the NEC and almost all the other representation from the region.

It's insane how they got 8 MPs in Somalia due to 4.5 when they can't even bring out 1 MP in a 1M1V democratic process, but have to rely on tokens.

Ciise should stop worrying about representation until iog is replaced.
IOG getting replaced is not as good as it sounds. It will trigger a power vacuum and internal conflict among them. However, ironically, IOG's dictatorship should have motivated them to seek representation in Somaliland.

They had cross border voters from Djibouti (and Ethiopia) back in 2021 to vote in local elections. If they brought more voters then they could've got 1 MP atleast.

Ciise got those 8 seats at Carta as a kind of thank you payment to IOG from Southern Somali politicians. 8 seats were taken from Isaaq and given to Ciise.

Carta was a really bad precedent for Somalia.

You got a source? I've read somewhere that Isaaq elders walked out of the Carta conference, but I didn't know for what. It would make sense if it was for that reason.

Elections happening this year so they might get them back only if they all vote for their guy in their constituency

I can't remember the source. I heard it in some interview of someone who was at Carta.

There will be no presidential elections let alone parliamentary elections in Somaliland this year.
Somaliland is a failed federal state.

Its coincident South Somalia recover and Puntland success local elections, in other hand Jeegaan state iyo Alkabaab start to break down!!!.

Musa jeegaan did great job to burn down what its called repeblic jeegaan to ground.

Dhulbahante raise, now Cisaa Awdal :mjcry: .

Ciise are not addressing the root causes of their problem: Ever since the Republic of DJibouti was founded, Ciise was abandoning the territory they inhabited from the Somali Republic and was heading to DJibouti. No single Ciise moves back to the land they moved away from. You can see the result from their dwindling population numbers in areas they settled in Lughaya, Seylac, and other degaans they settled in North west Somalia (currently Somaliland). So before they complain about not being employed or represented, Ciise need to address the demographic issue that they face in their territories.

Correction; They settled those lands with the Samaroon, and it was never solely their territory. Plus, a lot of Samaroon went with them to Djibouti. That has to be factored in as to why the population dwindled, on top of a lot of Samaroon urbanising in Borama

You're right though, they shouldn't be calcaaling.
