Freedom House is an annual global report on political rights and civil liberties, composed of numerical ratings and descriptive texts for each country.

This year Somaliland's score went up by 7 points due to several reasons that we will find out soon when the report does come out.

The most democratic Muslim nations:

1 - Senegal (68 points)
2 - Tunisia (64 points)
2- Malaysia (50 points)
4- Somaliland (49 points)

Furthermore it has surpassed Kenya score to become the most democratic country in East Africa.

On a more serious note, I suspect the point you make, among others, is why Somaliland is given only a partly-free score.
We've made huge progress since leaving the chaotic state of Somalia, but there is still a long way to go.
