Prominent Somaliland politician Mohamud Hashi was given his walking papers today, following years of clan infighting within Kulmiye. There was a gentleman’s agreement between the ruling elite of Kulmiye that Habar Jeclo would chair the party after Muse Bihi’s term, but Bihi has refused to honor the agreement.




Hashi gave an interview to BBC today on his dismissal and his thoughts on Dictator Bihi’s leadership.




It’s sad to see the world’s first democracy give into clan politics. Even Isaaq supremacist Faisal Ali Waraabe is calling out the blatantly clannism in Somaliland politics. Now it makes sense why Bihi has been ordering the arrest of HJ social media personalities.

Lol you're late to the story Hashi already left the party long ago when he had disputes with Ina Bixi and there was rumors he would form his own party i next year's opening of political association or join the Waddani party in which he held several talks with heads of the party. This expulsion is just a formal one and it's not surprising.

Also you're literally from clan based state where the president is chosen by clan elders just like in Xamar

He doesn't have the power to extended his term only Guurtida can and it should only come to that decision when all political parties and the election commission agree on that decision and should be for a valid reason like budgetary problem natural disasters or security reasons.

Guurti is only there to keep the peace between all communities if the govt unilaterally extends its term the country could go to a civil war.

The Kulmiye Party is done. Muse Bixi has been a disaster and brought nothing to Somaliland thus far. Muse is power hungry but cannot win a second term or get an extention due to Ina Hashi's tactics. I believe this is election is Waddani's to lose since the HJ votes are divided.

It doesn’t matter who bixi wanted. Hashi was never going to be the chairman of Kulmiye. Either way the next year elections will be interesting cause it’s a coin toss despite Bixi incompetence.
