There's literally zero benefit for them to do this. It will just be a PR-nightmare for them among other Somalis.
It's not like foreigners are going to say, "huh, they canceled that meeting with the word Somali. So now we're going to recognize them!"

But what can you expect of them? They are so angry and bitter and powerless, so they do whatever (little) thing they can, which is not much.
