Population growth in Somalia is out of control. The country went from 4 million in the 1970s to close to 20 million today, and 75% of the population is very young---under 30%

Stable and economically well off societies are those where the majority of the population is working age---between 30 and 59. These are the people with technical skills, and a desire to live in a stable society where they can support their families.

When a society is very young---youth bulge---it's 80% more likely to enter civil war. Lots of bored young people, not enough adults to support them, and economies cannot function when everyone is essentially a child.

But nobody in Somalia is talking about this issue...Somalis just keep having more kids...look at the Somali Faces facebook page...it's one fawning post after another about some young local (usually early 20s) in Somalia having 4 or 5 kids...a lot of "manshallahs" in the comments section but nobody is talking about what impact all of these kids will have on already resource-poor, environmentally fragile, ungoverned country....these kids will definitely grow up angry, poor, uneducated and future recruits for Al Shabaab to continue the cycle of suicide bombings or clan feuding

Somebody needs to send birth control and condoms to Somalia en mass..also education on birth-spacing.....there's a lot of horny young people back there and all they have to do with their time is f*ck...and Somalia does not need more babies at this time, we don't know what to do with all those already born

It is couldn't be further from the truth. These youngsters will have the opportunity to get a job and improve the society they live in. Just like they grave a job that will pay well and allows them to invest in their regions.

Ones the tribe's settle down for a debate to further federalism one of the few systems that allow the tribes to rule themselves internally. And a government that oversees the outside business. The tribes that long for centralisation of the nation are neglected the fact that it is the root cause for our problems till this very day.

Work toghether on federalism ensure stability and deploy the troops under one banner to take down Al Shabaab this shit have been going on for way to long. The youngsters (80% of the population) need work to improve the nation. We cannot be playing with the nation no more. Unite the states under one the somali banner. On attack on one is an attack on all.

Certain states may appear to be strong against each other however they forget the neighbouring nations that can easily overpower our states. Come on now somalis where not puppets in the past, we need our pride back and stop these nonsense at once.
