Somalia's Minister of Transport & Civil Aviation meets with Chinese officials after Somaliland closes its airspace

“Hawiye cartel” put the fries in the bag bro. You are really losing it recently.

It's a precise definition.
Obvoiusly dressed up a a soveriegn state and the world praying it becomes one but this is the reality.
It's very much operating as cartel like enterpise with a very limited clan constituency, mostly certain Hawiye and has no qualities of true sovereiegn state.

Take the E-visa issue, there's no reason to have an E-visa system except to try to mask the sovereign gap and to steal money which is the cartels operating logic.

Following reports of a massive drop in overflights in Mogadishu FIR, the enfeebled Mogadishu cartel calls on the Chinese for assistance.

China and Somalia established a strategic partnership back in 2024 and that's all this is about. Nothing about "running to China over Somaliland" because the separatist entity has no authority to enforce anything in Somalia's internationally recognized land, sea, and airspace territory.

By that logic isn’t Somaliland an Iidoor Cartel?
That is the fair point but let’s use the right term for clans and not derogatory terms such as iidoor faqaah or hutu . We need tomove away from this terms But ur right if the Somali goverment in Mogadishu is hawiye cartel. Then the Hargeisa goverment of Somaliland is by default an Isaaq cartel

It’s not a derogatory term. Many of them use it to describe themselves. They claim it means ‘businessperson’. It’s no different really than saying beesha jare*rweyne. In some contexts might be considered derogatory, in others not.

'Some contexts' is a big understatement. 9/10 times if a non-isaaq uses that it's derogatory although you are correct that its not inherently derogatory.

So it’s sorta like how some people use ‘nigga’?
That's a decent comparison although the words evolved in the opposite direction. Nigga began as a slur before being reclaimed by AAs whereas iidoor started off as a descriptor that was eventually weaponised by other clans as a slur.

well, you know, AA are known for their music and dancing, whereas waqooyi galbeed is known for ‘fanka iyo suugaantaa’ so the parallels are quite stunning indeed!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_genocide_in_the_United_States Some have argued that the treatment of AAs constitutes/ed genocide so there's another similarity to add to your list.
Also African American men date/marry outside their ethnicity all the time whereas you hardly ever see AA women doing this. This is similar to Isaaq's; it's fairly common to see Isaaq men married to non-isaaq Somali women but the reverse almost never occurs.
:cryinglaughsmiley::cryinglaughsmiley:Looks like Isaaq's really are the madows of Somali's

So then you concur, it is a fairly strong thesis?
