Somalia's government lifts the ban of Khat from both Ethiopia and Kenya

No it wasn't unbanned. He only talked about harari khat.
Someone remove this breaking news tag and put misleading. The OP is well-known for reporting fake news.

Says by the Borono Buun who only posts here to defend his Aabo Xaarmaajo.:pachah1::mjlol:

For real though I saw that pibolar minister backtracked what he intial said yesterday, if you watch the TV interview he clearly said the Khat import from abroad is lifted.

Since Ethiopia was already bringing the Hareeri, the only logical thing is he was referring the Kenya khat,it is not my fault that these illtrate cab drivers don't know how to make themselves clear.:kanyeshrug:

First, the President and his government can have his gaffs. This is one of them. Revenue must be low for a u turn of this type. Khat eating is a pandemic, but If your going to let people eat khat, give them the good ones. The people are eating a stale type of Khat. Now, they can enjoy their "sweeter" khat, with no dent in the pocket.

Khat should be banned, sooner or later, with or without Farmajo, that shit needs to be stopped quick.

Long story short, I remember a tale from a Rwandan elder when I was younger, mind you this guy loved his khat before it got banned. It is illegal in Rwanda and he was there to teach the kids about its disadvantages. He would explain the different types of khat and flavors. The Kenyan Khat is more sweeter then the Harari Khat. Harari is stale and sour and hated by most users. The Lehzen Khat, mainly ate by Yemanis and Ethiopians in Israel has a different component, and is neither bitter nor sour but way more addictive.

I personally never tried it, nor ever ate it. A short reason why I remember its classifications.

Khat is a drug and like other drugs just simply banning it won’t work, there’s needs to be government sponsored campaigns to raise awareness and create jobs for the addicts to fill the void. Let us take examples from other nations and their long wars on drugs. I believe with education, we can eliminate khat problem :)
