Somalia Trade Deficit

I think Somalia has a huge trade deficit. To understand what a trade deficit is, it means what u sell to the world and what u get back and the difference in value. We import far more valuable products from knowledge based countries then we offer to outside markets. All our trade is linked to is livestock, agriculture, frankincense, fish. We import medicine, electronics, equipments, foodstuffs, cars, construction material. Is that a balanced trade? hell no. The items we import are far more valuable to us then what we give the world in return. I am sure they can live without bannanas and meat lol but can we live without their items? nope. You are now dependent.

I would hate negotiating a trade treaty on behalf of Somalia at the WTO, I would have to accept a slap in the face for having an inferior economy that still relies on natural resources and has nothing else to offer the world. Say thanks to Islam which is the root cause of this, they are told to spend their lives focusing on the next world while neglecting this world. All societies that overly religious rely on natural resources no matter what type of society, they don't have a knowledge based economy due to religion killing their brain-cells.

These assholes still believe in superstitions still like witch-craft, demon possession, black magic, the evil eye. They think another human has no some sort of holy un-seen power over them lol. Do u honestly think that society can develop an economy that isn't totally natural based? The amish in america are also like this who are christians, any society that puts religion first be prepared what awaits you is an inferior economy as you get relegated to toil the natural surrounding lol.

When I see the amount time and energy they put into religion in Somalia. I am like this

Cause I know where a society leads to that rejects the natural world and it's focus, no supernatural focused society will ever be successful, any society outside science isn't going to be rise up in this world.

I wonder how @Teeri-Alpha is going to explain this? he is big promoter of a natural resources economy lol cause he knows how stupid religious society are but won't tell them, their IQ isn't fit for anything else.

Answer me waryaa why Somalia is in a deficit of large porportion there is no trade equality here waryaa as I know u absame are always crazy about 'sinaan iyo cadaalad' but there is none waryaa when fiscally speaking. The amount we spend in foreign markets and the goods we get in return and the vitality of those goods to our society in comparison to what we offer is a huge deficit of massive porportions and the loss is on our side. Come and tell me how your Wahabism is leading to a productive society lol, that is why secularist ant to ban this shit and implement science and naturalism(not supernatural) as the philosophy of society.

Somalia can easily industrialise its economy. Its current bottlenecks are political instability (due to a weak central government) and Islamic terrorism; the former being entirely self-inflicted. If the federal government can consolidate the country and root out extremism, we already have a replicable, proven development model to follow.

Joe Studwell points out in How Asia Works that East Asian economies rapidly modernized by following a simple three stage plan:
  1. Create conditions for small farmers to thrive. (This requires significant land reform.)
  2. Use the proceeds from agricultural surpluses to build a manufacturing base that is tooled from the start to produce exports. If firms fail in this export market, break them up. (This requires a protected economic.)
  3. Nurture both these sectors (small farming and export-oriented manufacturing) with financial institutions closely controlled by the government.
As you can probably gather, this model requires a powerful central government and a single economic entity that can direct industrial policy. The likelihood of this occurring in Somalia is very low. We're still beholden to an antiquated clan system rather than a mass society which this model presupposes. Not to mention, most countries are opposed to protectionism despite having benefitted from it earlier in their development. Bad Samaritans by Ha-Joon Chang explores this issue further.

You want Somalia to be a modern, industrialized, high-HDI country? Reject clan identity, regressive Islamism, and, a recalcitrant political class. Work towards building a society composed of atomized individuals with strong, social institutions. Do this and I have no doubt Somalia can leverage its inherent strengths to become a regional power.
