Somalia Strategic Location May Last Mellenia

I find it amazing how strategically located Somalia is. They sit on the gulf especially the entry/exit point which location wise has been the richest piece of marine real-estate and the longest running maritime route connecting europe to asia. Many empires used it from ancient egypt-greek-romans-arabs-turks-british. It's still going to be used for the predictable future.

Plus people might not see it now but the Somali Indian ocean is where the future belt-road market is going to happen. It's facing the giants of the 21st Century. While also it's facing in-wards to a continent predicted to rise in the 22nd century after it has gone thru it's teething problems and has developed wisdom and experience from it and will serve as a gateway to reach asia.

The security implications are massive also as any wise nation will want to get in and be prepared for the future EARLY. Becuz where-ever the trade chokehold is will mean security priorities will need to go hand in hand, especially since the area isn't a place of 'alliances'

Alot of the trade right now is limited between old powers thru atlantic n pacific, plus their allies 90% on those channels, which makes it not a risky place. But it's definitely not the future. The only continent we don't impact is south-america. But europe-asia-australia-mid-east-africa we are some-way always involved.

we may have a strategic position but we have horrible agricultural resources. We live in a dry and arid desert. Worst of all we have a horrible nomadic culture that set us back 1000 years, if that wasn’t bad enough we also have extreme tribalism that makes playing catch up almost impossible.

What we need is a miracle.

The future looks bleak for the current inhabitants but maybe the future groups who'll inherit it will make use of it.

It's even bleaker when u factor in gen y-z will be dead by 2080 maximum. They will be left with a warlord-terrorist generation with no institutional memory. Plus the lack of making english official language will sideline it from investors since it's the business lingo, it's also going to isolate them from knowledge due to the language barrier. On top of that Hodan Naaleeye project is over to create some sort of bridge so the diaspora born re-engage. Indeed the conditions look very bleak.

Speak for yourself. The South is not an arid desert. We just need to get rid of this nomadic culture where we let animals loose on our agriculture.

Shabellaha Hoose alone has the potential to feed Somalia

I disagree, if Rwanda can rise from the ashes created by machete wielding camps and Europe can recover from 1000 years of genocides- we should be able to move past this suit wearing ignorant led era!

We just need more people like Balwaan who says I am done with supporting agendas based on qabiil..

We need to go back to recognising xaqa

The semi-arid climate is a blessing and shaped the somalis you see today.

If somalia suddenly become covered with thick rainforest like the congo we would

1. Lose our small noses and develop larger nostrils and flat noses to breath oxygen easily in a warm-humid climate

2. We dont have the sickle cell gene which protects humans from malaria disease which thrives in that kind of environment

3. We will starve to death because the teste fly will kill all our livestock and somalis will die out.
