Somalia should adopt a mixture of Osmanya and Kaddare as an official script

A mixture of the two will sort out many of the issues that both individually have. Many of Osmanya letters come from Latin whereas many of Kaddare are difficult and time-consuming to write.

As for why a new script should be adopted, well why not?

It will allow us to preserve our history and heritage while also not adding that much extra cost. Japan employs 3 different writing systems so two is not an unrealistic prospect.

our script now is good enough

There are actually a lot of problems with our current script.

The lack of standardization, lack of marking for tones, long words etc.

I'm not advocating for the removal of Somalia's current Latin based on rather an adoption of an indigenous script used side by side.

The current Latin script is in need of reform though.

Interesting. Have we all had the language structure we have now? Or what it more oral history. Lol I forgot might just research that.

We should just use the current alphabet but replace double vowels to ë ö etc.

We want to make it as easier as possible for others to learn our language.

I agree but we can also adopt two scripts, it would be a cool way to preserve our history and won't have much of a cost.

We should get rid of most of these loan words while we’re at it
Almost every loan word has a synonym that's somali. Albaad and Idiir is a nice example. We should find and collect every word into a list before deleting the foreign ones and teach them in the education system.

Plus some of our words are disabled. Look up the somali word for democracy we should make new words instead of using broken Italian

Oh didn't read that part. Sure that would be cool. However we'll need an economy in order to have enough rich patrons to support this project.

We should focus on one first.

However the most important part is language development. So many new concepts require new Somali words and phrases.

Best way to develop that is to support Somali authors, technical writers and linguistics academics.

Inshallah we set aside a percentage of tax to support literature in the future.

How about wadaad? It's way older then the other scripts, and has been used by Sonali merchants in Somaliland for 700 years. Also makes it easier for children to understand classical Arabic.

We shouldn't use scripts created in the 20th century, it's ridiculous and makes us look like people who figured out writing just 100 years ago.
There are some evidences of undeciphred somali scripts in northern Somalia and there is also evidence of south Arabian script.
The best traditional script with be the wadaad arabic script which was actually historically used by Somalis. Wadaad script was adapted to write the Somali language and most Somalis today have some kind of knowledge of the Arabic alphabet.
Pakistanis and persians also use Arabic derived scripts .
Latin script is still the best though, we have a huge illiteracy problem, changing the alphabet would make stuff more difficult
