If Nigeria is gonna be over 400 million by 2050 then somalis need to be pushing that number to the max.
Africa is gonna be the future with its massive young population compared to the decline of Europe and the stagnation that many manufacturing powers in Asia are going to face due to rapid industrialisation and low birthrate.
Egypt will be the big player in North and north eastern Africa. Nigeria will dominate all of west coast Africa like jupiter having all it's side b!tches around it. South Africa will continue fulling the south.
East Africa is a contest. Ethiopia could pull itself together or the Bantu east africans would make a EU like union and dominate the east, the proposed federation ain't happening lmao.
In any other time somalia would be carved up and our people genocided and assimilated. We are lucky we had 30 years of foolery in the most peaceful time in world history. Africa is gonna heat up fast in the coming decades as new nations form, old ones split and some become regional powers.
Somalia has these precious few decades to end this clan bs and pull the country together and catch up to the rest of our neighbours who are developing. If Somalia can't centralise and start it's process of industrialisation within a decade or so then the somalis are basically finished.
High population growth rates in a country typically means that the country is economically stressed. Families who are at risk of starvation or children dying early will have several kids in order to ensure that at least some of them survive. This is in self interest to preserve the family lineage, and isn't necessarily beneficial for society as a whole.
Rampant birth rates, while expected in impoverished countries, is not necessarily a good thing for Somalia. Obviously, having a large population would be good to have a prosperous labor force and economy. But these children are being born out of poverty, and not a stable household. Many lack the proper food and education to become economically valuable citizens. For example, according to the World Food Programme, 6.5 million Somalis face "acute food insecurity", and the UN Refugee Agency estimated that over 1 million Somalis were displaced from their homes during last year's drought and famine. This means that children who do survive poverty will grow up as uneducated adults who lack skills necessary beyond low level menial jobs. In order for Somalia to improve economically, you will also need doctors, lawyers, nurses, scientists, engineers, and not just uneducated people. Also, a large amount of uneducated youth, particularly men, in poor countries have historically been easy seeds to causing war, or easily radicalizing groups of people to terrorist groups.
Wars aren't fought with swords and horses anymore either, having a prosperous military means that you have well skilled military members able to use equipment, as well as an economically advanced nation capable of producing technologically advanced military weapons. Massive amounts of people alone are not going to win a war. Better economy --> better military. Somalia will need to rapidly advance, get rid of their qabilist government, make the country safer and ensure proper education to end their pariah state of war & famine.
It isn't fake. Somalia seriously still has population growth of 4% a year. America is basically subsidizing our population growth.

Sadly African high birth rates are accompanied with high infant morality rates and maternal mortality , we should focus a great majority of our energy focus on mitigating it. Focusing on just few causes such as low nutrition, vitamin deficiencies that can be supplemented with fruits, sanitation etc a large portion of these loss of life can averted and help move forward our collective goals as a society inshallah

but I agree that if infant mortality was lower these birth rates might be lower
the responsibility to educate these youth lies on us and we shouldn’t shy away from it, also as the gap education is becoming easier to access and Somalis have such deep social networks based on keeping relationships with kith and kin, that can be used to swiftly educate the whole society compared to a individualistic society that people can easily be left behind forgotten and fall through the cracks
