Somalia lost it's morals during the war. The ministry of Edecution needs to put morals in the school circularium

You are seen as a maskiin doqan in Somalia if you come back and try to give back to the community. Don't believe me? Just look back at AUN Hodan Nalyeh's videos in Somalia. People in Somalia generally believe the younger diaspora are "sambac" idiots who are "bacbaac" spoiled and fooled in the west. The reason being is that the society back home, has evolved to care only about ourselves for survival. Those kids grow up to become currupt politicans working only for their interest and soldiers who ask for peoples phones and money at checkpoints because, "dantaada taqaanaa", you know your interest.

In the west, we were taught the golden rule every year since elementary and other morals that emphasized treating others the way you want to be treated. In Somalia, it's treat others the way it best benefits you as long as it isn't ceeb. Ceeb is the religion of Somalis back home. Shopping with your wife or even holding her hand is seen as weird especially in most Somali cities but stealing and killing someone from another clan is seen as normal. Immorality for men is justified in Somalia for survival but for the family to function, we must have women under our control. That is why even post war Somali Sheekhs only focus on calling out women in their haram.

Daacad and doqon are used interchangeably💀.

Education, Job creation and security are the three main sectors somalia needs to work on. Everything else will fall in line like dominos
You are right. I would say correct education matters more than all of that because that will create job creation and people not being deluded into clan miltia, gangs, and terrorism. If people are taught that a job is ceeb, the economy will suck and there won't be more job opportunities. You will see a person with a masters degree working as a construction worker in the west but in Somalia that job is seen as a job for langaabs. That is why Amahara are taking over Jigjiga and South Asians are coming to take over Somalia.

Most somalis have mental problems but they don't know it or they blame it on jinn and sixr. Thank God we are muslim otherwise we will have genocided each other by now already

Had Somali neighbor once. Their father didn’t live with them, he visited once in a while. These people were straight outta Somalia/ refugee camp they tried to steal my clothes from the laundry room, the kids were always outside till midnight, fighting with everybody in the neighborhood and etc. Yet they talk sh&t because I have no hijab on laughable.! That’s all they ever go for is ‘deen’ once they know your Somali they never leave you alone.

A comment I made under a thread some few weeks ago

"We need a cultural reformation. The number 1 thing holding us back is ourbackward culture and tribalism. You rarely see Somalis using the word "Haram" or "Halal" its always the word "ceeb" and "its not part of our dhaqan." Somalis are not islamically literate. We put so much emphasis on memorizing the quran and actually ignoring the content of our faith. When I was in Somalia I met bunch of quran xaafidh kids. I asked this one who was 14 who had memorized and finished the quraan 2 times the meaning of Surah Asr. He replied he wasnt taught that. They learn nothing other than memorizing quran and they do not learn the meaning of dua's. I didnt even know about the concept of Tawheed a year ago and I am in the midst of Surah Nisa. And then you wonder why are our sisters and daughters reluctant to wear the Hijab, its because they havent learn why we should wear it. They always respond with waxaas waa ceeb or dhaqankeeyni ma'ahan. So indeed we need a cultural and religious reformation where we put more emphasis on the deen. And we put more emphasis in understanding our faith, reading, writing arabic and reading the books concerning aqeedah. So when a child grows up, they are litterate and educated when it comes to Islam, we won't have somalis selling drugs, women being promiscuous and immodest. Being educated and having the correct aqeedah and manhaj is rewarded. Anything that goes against our faith is rebuked. I guarantee Allah will make us strong and send down abundance of beneficial rain. We will not have corrupt leaders because they will not be able to strive in a Somali society unless they are those good people I just described."
