It was sarcasm. They're both hideos. Rumour has it Saudia Arabia demanded their emblem on Somalilands national flag to fund their $500 press release.
Somalia is corrupt because there is no electronic disbursement and recording of monies exchanged. What further can you expect when the central bank treasury is used to pay for MPs laundry bill? Lack of IT systems and technocrats are the obvious culprits. But the real culprit is the lack of electicity to power such systems, and reliably. Somalia is the only nation in the world without a single power plant!
Believe me Somalia would get a heck lot more money if it were more transparent. As of now foreign governments pour most their aid money to NGOs who they believe are more trustworthy. Incredibly this is still done despite knowing NGOs only spend 30 cents on the dollar on average for the intended cause! If Somalia implemented a central bank, utilised mobile payments, all backed by a single blockchain ledger, my theory is that Somalia would be awash with money.

Can I ask what you find endearing about the flag?
It looks like....shit. Honestly looks like something a Somali nomad came up with who has never visited a city before. Thought of the biggest thing he's ever seen before (the sun), slapped it on the center, and bam. Thats our flag.

I think the flag is absolutely beautiful! Simple and easy on the eyes.

Its a beautiful flag. Flags are supposed to be simple and easy to recognize. Its also unique and meaningful. You're free to have your opinion but the flag will never change.
If I am ever president that would be my second directive. That flag is awful and unsophosticated. It must and will be change.
It's not the sun but a star representing our divided nations Rufus.
Plus it's symbolic and beautiful.

We shall change Citizenship law , ONLY people from one of the 18 regions could be Somalia citizen
