As a citizen of Jubbaland, this is excellent news for us. We will soon become Somalia’s gateway to the EAC and by extension the richest federal state.

Kenyan troops are in Somalia because of a clan using them to their own advantage and even then the kenyaatis haven’t done fück all. They and the rest of the countries of Amisom are confined to their bases, just collecting paychecks from the white man who finances 100% of this whole operation.

Amisom was not created or handled by africans, its the westerners. From the start to the end. Western countries did not want to use their own troops in Somalia to fight ”terrorism” so they use africans who have died by the thousands all essentially for nothing.

Amisom are leaving, we have gotten confirmation from the defence minister and from XSM himself. Cadaans don’t want to finance them anymore so they are pulling the plug. Also our president has done wonderful job working with the real players and easing the arms embargo.

Somali businessmen playing a huge part is a plus, they will benefit somalis and it will trickle down to Somalia once we get our shit in order slowly.
I won't believe Amisom is leaving untill I see them leaving. Every time they say they are leaving they get an extension. Let's not be naive, these people benefit from staying in Somalia getting payed by the International community to do absolutely nothing. Same for the arms embargo , the west will never lift the embargo because they want us weak. That's why HSM government had contacts with Russia to get weapons. Lastly Somali businessman are doing a great job but it's only about individuals or families, they have no ties to the federal government. The Somali businessmen in Kenya do good DESPITE Somalia as a government and not because of it.

The Bantus should look down on Somalis not the other way around, they are not ones without a government for decades. They are actually also hardworking people who dont waste their time.

Puntland, Somaliland, Dijbouti, Somalis in Ethiopia and kenya. All has function goverments. Only south Somalia has issue.

What Somalia's entrance into the EAC means for the region:

While Somalia’s membership into the EAC comes with several benefits to the member states—including increasing intra-regional trade by linking Africa to the Arabian Peninsula through its national long coastline
Should Somalia be admitted into the EAC it will be the eighth member of the trade bloc. It has a population of 17 million people and hopes that its admission into the bloc will help other countries exploit its blue economy while also enhancing the movement of goods, services and people in the region.
Burundi wants it's contingent in ATMIS to remain in Somalia, but doesn't want Somalia to join the EAC. Not to mention, the VP of Burundi 'hailed' DRC's admission last year. :drakewtf:
Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is EAC’s newest member of the regional body which also includes Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda and South Sudan. Some countries like Tanzania and Burundi have been opposed to Somalia’s admission.
“What has been bothering Tanzania is the aspect of immigration. Because once you open up, they (the citizens of Somalia) can go to Tanzania and stay there by right. The protocol admits free movement of persons,” said Kennedy Manyala, an economist who previously worked with the EAC Secretariat.

The bulk of the 2,000 ATMIS soilders leaving Somalia this month are Burundi. These guys are stationed in Middle Shabelle. We already took over the FOB’s in the region except for the Jowhar one. No more Shabaab or AMISOM for us

Somalia will just be like a repeat of South Sudan, but probably worse. I think it's good Somalia joins the EAC oversall so the youth can benefit. It's just a matter of time with Somalia's integration process until the youth can reap those benefits. SS have also been in the EAC since 2016 and their nationals have no senior ranks. Somalia needs to learn from their mistakes.
South Sudan is yet to harmonise its internal laws to conform to the East African Community integration. It is also yet to repeal internal laws that impede free movement of people under the Common Market’s six freedoms.

This is because the country lacks both human capital and technical capacity, a move that has seen the president appeal to his neighbours for help.
For a country that took only four years to be admitted to the EAC in 2016, civil strife meant the country concentrated on resolving its conflicts rather than plan how to reap the benefits of a Common Market.

Few South Sudanese staff were trained in Customs, immigration, and revenue/tax collection at the border points resulting in a slow EAC integration process. In May 2021, President Kiir urged East African leaders to waive visa fees for South Sudanese. Kenya and Uganda are the only EAC partner states that still charge Visa fees on South Sudanese citizens.
Apart from the nine members of the East African Legislative Assembly, South Sudan nationals are yet to be employed in senior ranks at the EAC organs.
“Please put in place mechanisms to increase South Sudan’s level of participation in intra-regional trade in addition to initiatives that will enable the people of South Sudan to fully capitalise on the benefits of the Community,” said President Kiir.
“But we are happy that at least we have staffers at the Lake Victoria Basin and others at the East African Court of Justice South Sudan students have also benefited from scholarships, thanks to the EAC Interuniversity Council.”

Alhamdulilah. Their numbers need to keep reducing.

You would think Burundi would allow Somalia's admittance into the EAC knowing full well they haven't contributed to the liberation in Somalia, even being the second largest contingent with over 5k troops before their reduction. Wuxu xaasidsana. They've been milking Somalia since 2007, they should gracefully let Somalis benefit off them now.

How would Somalia benefit? We don't produce anything worth exporting and our coastline location won't also be beneficial because the cost of transporting is expensive in Somalia

Burundi got lower annual gdp and per capita than a Somalia that's been in turmoil for decades lol.

Their Agricultural sector accounts for 40% of their GDP and their employment rate is 90%. I'm sure they can offer help to the Somali youth in learning from their agricultural practises and employment or learn from their job creation.

Why hasn't Al shabab done their job and kill these traitors that want to forfeit somali lands to Christians Bantu barbarians
Mahad Salad cleaned them from Xamar, good relationship with CIA and FBI. We’re growing in security infrastructure and intelligence gathering. Shabaab is being chased in the rural regions, they’ve never been weaker.

Anyway this is good for Somalia and Somalis. Calm down, no need to call for assassinations

I wouldn't mind if it was economic trade deals.
But EAC's goal is to unify into a single Bantu majority Christian state. Somalis should not forfeit sovereignty to this.

Aid has been flooding our country and destroying local economy. Somalia needs protectionism right now to grow it's industries. Joining a league of nations with 50-60 million population each with larger economies flooding our country with their goods would be even more devastating.

It's a bad deal for somalia all ways
