Logic over everything
Ive been thinking are we in a Stalemate. Usually when there's a civil war the country splits into 2 maybe 3 factions . The Duke it out or come to an agreement. Usually Duke it and one comes out on top, but somali split in to , I don't even Know how many factions, seems like every other day there a new one . And what's even worst is that the one recognize by the world is the weakest they didn't even win back their lands , the have no clout amongst the other factions . Its a complete shit show .

We had our chance of unifying in 2006 but then the west interfered this is pretty much civil war 2.0

Well, I guess you're right but the Islamic courts ,were pretty much religious fanatics , you run a nation in the 21st century only of the love /fear of god . Practical and strong .

Our previous civil war was interrupted by foreigners and we still can't come to a conclusion untill a single faction can overpower everyone else.

That won't happen when you have an arm's embargo.

@government

Do you think the leadership of Hassan Dahir Aweys and Indhocadde of the Islamic Union Courts was a National (Somalia-wide) unifying force or was it a unifying force for the clan he hails from in Mogadishu? Do you think Ceeyrow, Godane and Alshabaab who from the get go were aligned with Alqaeda would’ve supported them in the long run? After Abdulahi Yuduf (R.A), Sheikh Sharif came to power, why didn’t they support him? What about the many religious groups in Somalia feuding over politics? They were lucky that the Ethiopians crashed on their party, otherwise, more bloodshed would’ve fallen on the people of Mogadishu via suicide bombings and they would’ve eliminated one another like Alshabaab. You sound too amateurish and emotional.

Even without one that no one will win

Why?

We were waving the Italian and British flag a few decades back.

Did we elect them as our leaders because we unanimously decided that they were the best for the job?

I think it might have been the flying guns in the air that convinced us to stop fighting.

At the end of the day it's military force that rules.... Not democratic institutions or clans.

Yes without an unbiased and loyal military it looks very dim for us all

Unbiased? Loyal?

Modern militaries don't work that way. It's just the upside-down country we're in that makes you think that way.

Militaries are based on self interest.

The top echelon gain political and economic benefits.

Their leuitenants (generals) gain status and probably some political and economic benefits.

The rest in the army get a decent paycheck and hopefully a stable career.... something people would kill for (which in this case that's what they sign up for).

Militaries if done correctly are some of the most stable and conservative institutions in a country.

Clan affiliations aren't that strong when the top echelon skim hundreds of millions from the country's economy.

Only time militaries break down is if there's an unpopular junta in charge where there's a risk of the overthrow of the militaries top echelon.
