However we could be an exporter nation. Many jobs and revenue could be made given we border countries with significant energy needs

Main reason why Somalia lacks any real manufacturing industry is because of the lack of cheap power.

Since generators are still the main source of reliable power, electricity costs are high. Nearly all the electricity projects in Somalia is no where near satisfactory for a manufacturing industry.

If we want to remain at the status quo, then yes, there’s no need for wind and solar. But any new projects requires heavy investment in an electrical grid.
