Think of somalia as a sinking ship and political offices are basically the life boats... why would these politicians stay in any corners (somali regions) of the sinking ship and try fixing them?? They would rather collect as much as they can from this sinking ship and get off. These corrupt politicians opt-out a sustainable development in somalia for few milions in exchange. Some of these developments are capable of making $100 million a year and they are traded for about 30 million and this due to seeking quick enrichment because these fools have no long term vision (even for themselves)

This is not true, he wanted the port to be sold which is true, however he also told UAE that the decision lies with harti on the ground. After Harti disagreed, UAE are throwing a fit now after they realized garacad will be a self sufficient port. Deni is caught in the middle. How far will the arabs go? we shall see.

Sources are clearly necessary, but as far as I've understood, PL was strongly aligned with the UAE, whereas the FGS had backing from Qatar and Turkey. It's possible that there was a misunderstanding, or perhaps some confusion or incompetence in how Deni managed negotiations with the UAE. It wouldn't surprise me, however, if he had explored other options, perhaps with Ethiopia or even Qatar, and was playing hardball to secure maximum amount of concessions before reaching a settlement. This is all, admittedly, speculation based on the questionable sources OP provided.
