I support the premise of the thread. Somalia citizenship should be only for Somalia citizens. We must be realistic and lessen tensions with our neighbours by accepting those only living within the internationally recognised borders of Somalia are citizens of it.

Currently any old person can get a Somali passport, as long as they claim Somali forefathers. This means someone who’s never stepped foot in Somalia and has no loyalty to this country and people can become president, get citizenship, vote etc. This must end

Would you guys continue to support the Faqash policy of giving all Somali clans the Somalia passport and citizenship automatically, giving them unhindered access and opportunities in Somalia, such as being able to participate in Somalia politics even though you know some of these clans are mainly from Kenya and Ethiopia.

In addition, remember the 77 war destroyed not only our economy but our country, and the people we fought for and have always supported in Kenya and Ethiopia have never really done anything for us.

Infact devolution of power and increased freedom for Somalis in Ethiopia and Kenya they got in the 90s and 2000s has negatively impacted real Somalis from Somalia, I support not only reversing Somalia policy in regards to Somalis born in Kenya/Ethiopia, I support and argue that Kenya and Ethiopia reversing ethnic based federalism in Kenya and Ethiopia would be a good thing to Somalis from Somalia.

I understand your sentiment, and where you are coming from. But this logic is flawed, mainly due to the fact that although they hail from different clans they are still your people. Not sure where this is coming from but take that into consideration.

No citizenship immediately, but after 5 years any Somali should be able to get a citizenship and 10 years for non Somalis. After two decades of stability, the time should be changed to 2 years for Somalis and 15 years for non Somalis.

There’s always time to change. It’s not viable to have a country with more citizens than those that live in it. How ridiculous will it be to see 1m1v with Ethiopian citizens participating. Ethiopian government will influence our elections.

Also what is a Somali? Let’s be honest not all Somali clans are Somali. So how do you define it other than through dna tests. Good luck in a country as dysfunctional as Somalia.

Imo we should have each FMS recognise citizens within its borders and then FGS recognises only those in the FMS/regions as citizens. So that means you can only participate in our future elections within the Italian Somalia’s borders.

no they didn’t. WSLF controlled all of Western Somalia until the 1980’s during Operatiin Lash (xabeshi for ringworm)

I am sorry bro, you mean well but this is non-negotiatiable.

Somalia is the homeland of the Somali people, any Somali is welcome.

A Somali is an ethnic Somali, a Somali ethnic minority and their descendants, as well as naturalised citizens and their descendants.

A Somali from Ogaden isn’t from Ethiopia but Somalia. A Somali from NFD isn’t from Kenya but Somalia.

It is for this reason that Somaliland cannot become independent.

The idea of Somalia is eternal and forever linked with the aspirations of the Somali people, whether they like it or not.
