Somalia and Somaliland needs more palm trees

I'm watching videos of Moqadishu and the lack of palm trees is devastating the fact that I get so happy when I see it shows you how rare it is. Same with Hargeisa non existant. The capital would look better with more palm trees same with other cities. I know Somalia/Somaliland don't care about infrastructure or making any city look pleasant but is there any organization's that care about any of this or future city planning?

I hate how the city now looks unorganised, it looks like an eastern European clave it doesn't look like the exotic moqadishu in the 60s full of life and palm trees.

Let's bring back THIS moqadishu again.

There's already that cresent moon project going on in Puntland to reverse desertification. But it would have to be government initiative promoting the plantation of trees, preferably drought-immune ones in the arid areas. Perhaps a Somalia 'Green' party could also form and promote this

Inshallah when we soon have a backbone leader that cares about aesthetic. I need Moqadishu to look like miami with many plalm trees and white buildings and mix of modern buildings. The capital looks ugly now. So much potential lost with time. Looksmaxxing needs to also be prioritised.

They need to stop building till Somalia gets a normal government. I pray the new leader does a whole reconstruction on Mogadishu.

that won't happen since we have cirro who don't care about Somaliland. I pray we get a new young leader that's educated and actually care about aesthetic. I don't care how "gay" that sounds but image and good pr is good for a country and you earn respect and many generations not stained with self hate.

One does not need the leader to do it. Cities can get the seeds or whatever and plant them. Berbera has gotten s lot of trees of the years.

Never knew i always thought you need the president to approve. So why aren't we seeing many city planners pop out? because we need it now not to waste more time. And I know Somaliland had many priorities but I obviously want good image to be on that list. We can't afford to be another Somalia where sadly their image is currently tainted.

In regions like PL and SL, Omani architecture would be so beautiful especially with their mountain backdrop. In xamar where Im from I favour a mix of Italian architecture with whitewashed omani style buildings .

in fact forget regions why cant all of our homes across somaliweyn except for green areas have whitewashed homes? In green areas and mountainous terrain, I would love see red/brown buildings! Yemeni style

Aesthetics isn’t going to be a top priority maybe when everything is more stable. I have some ideas
