Somalia and OIL

If you look at this video you will see how much Somalia is underrated when it comes to the Oil and Gas market.

One of the reasons why alot of countries do not want us to start selling oil is because we can command a large share of the market.

Somalia is also located on a very Strategic area where Ships do not faces obstacles like the gulf of Persia if war starts between America and Iran

India, China are easy targets and we could steal these customers away from UAE and Saudi

Somalia will always face set-backs in our oil sector due to this.

America is also a big player and they claim owner-ship along with the British for our Oil and Gas

That is nearly impossible, there is no oil proven oil reserves in Somalia
It’s unknown. Somalia doesn’t have proven oil reserves. Their might be oil we just dont know. More studies are needed

Kenya does have proven oil for long time but they have struggled to extract it due to technology limitations. It used to be same way in America for alot of oil being inaccessible until fracking

Problem with video it says Somalia has 111 billion barrels of oil, that is merely an exaggerated estimation without any substance. The whole Somali coast has estimated around 30 billion, onshore is more likely less.

Somalis love to boast bout nonexistence oil, like a student bragging bout not studying while getting C+

Actually if you bothered to read the seismic survey that was conducted by that Scandinavian firm which came up with 30 billion barrels as what they found, you'd know that they only carried out the seismic hydrocarbon survey from Hobyo coast to kismaayo (due to political tensions regarding oil gas power sharing deal between FMS and the FGS, Puntland had refused to allow it's coastline to also be explored) so actually only Hobyo to kismaayo which is a mere 30 percent of Somalia's coastline, was explored and only a third of our coastline ended up having 30 billion barrels of proven huge oil gas reserves. It wouldn't be remiss to estimate that Puntland and Somaliland coastline will also have oil gas reserves that's around 40 to 60 billion barrels ...also genel oil company found oil reserves in holhol oil fields near Laascaanood in Dhulbahante clan territory, other areas of Somalia onshore have oil too...in general...that 110 billion barrels figure is actually a very good estimate
The main correction I'm giving to you Waryaa is this, the 30 billion barrels were only found in offshore Hobyo to kismaayo coastline region that's only a third of Somalia's coast nacas yahow next time double check your facts

The earliest article I could find mentioning 110 billion was UPI article from 2012. Started with a 2023 document and it cites a research paper, and it cited another research paper... the final document citation took me to this UPI document who pulled number from thin air. Very surprising to see how the academics are doing bare minumum hope somalia not paying them for consulting fees. If yall want article chain let me know

Not a single source says there is proven 110 billion barrels of oil. All estimations are not better than guessing at this point. US Running to Somalia? The same US which its companies surveyed the country in the 80s and found nothing, or are going to say they knew all along and just started scrambling now. Ridiculous line of thinking. Jubaland offshore has the greatest prospect at 30 billion, and even there the Kenyan maritime claimed areas surveyed by Eni found no oil in the disputed offshore blocks. The oil fields onshore in Somaliland could not have more than 5 billion barrels considering the basin which an extension of Yemen is significantly smaller. You have proven my argument when you cited Puntland, there are no surveys or estimations there oyside of Daroor basin and the offshore gas fields but you're quick to claim they must have an equal or greater potential in oil because ... you're delusional?

Not at all. These guys are stealing ngo and aid money where their is accountability to donors. Now imagine theres no accountability. It's gonna be corruption on steroids. However a shrewd politician would use the oil to lift ppl out of poverty and build the country. Providing universal income for ppl would probably fracture the clanism currently being used. IMO
