I wish he’d make a similar emotional speech whenever a Somali dies over something nonsense like qabiil or state beef. Also he’s a fool for making this statement, he’s being quoted everywhere, and he basically gave this story legs.

The story about UAE using Bosaso for nefarious reasons will eventually be proven true by outsiders. The Somalis defending this or saying the story is fabricated will have egg on their faces. Covering everything up or pretending things don’t exist to “protect Somali PR” is one of the most nonsensical things I read on here. We live in 2025. If the UAE is using PL to destroy Sudan, for which there are strong indicators, it will be eventually come out and it will be a dark day for DENI/ blind supporters of his.

He is indirectly putting pressure on UAE. First, he is confirming they're using their cargo planes which arrive in Northern Somalia and then head to Libya, Niger, and Western Sudan to fuel the conflict.

Second, he's confirmed the presence of Colombian mercenaries on Somali soil.

Third, he is making clear the FGS has no capacity to stop these cargo planes, and the UAE is taking advantage of this lack of capacity on the FGS part. On this point, he is signaling to anyone who opposed to this UAE's involvement to help the FGS develop this capacity.

Final, not sure if the FGS will maintain this line, but they have embarked on a course that is contradictory to UAE's plans here. The UAE on their part could provide more resources to Al-Shabaab to wreck havoc in the South much the same way they did during the Farmaajo's presidency. I think HSM is balancing that with IOG securing a section of the Dir Waqooyi voting block, especially Gadabuursi and Ciise mps, plus the southern Dir mps. The only thing that is not secured is Isaaq mps. He is also negotiating with Cirro through IOG in the middle. This is what the current gathering in DJibouti is all about.

HSM is also counting on Isaaq mps that he named as ministers and other positions in the current FGS.

As for funding, HSM is counting on Turkiye and Qatar plus the 100s of millions he looted in the current FGS. His current net worth was reportedly estimated to be closer to 1 billion USD.

His problem is he is not so sure about the MPs selected from Jubbaland, KG, GM and HSh. His recent visit to Kismayu should be seen in that context. However, Ahmed Madobe is not budging; he demanded a full recognition of his re-election, the release of all WB-funded projects to the JL govt, and the cancellation of his arrest from the Benadir regional govt. The basis between any future rapprochement between JL and FGS will be based on HSM fulfilling those demands. HSM so far only fulfilled one demand: The release of some of the WB-funded projects. However, he is delaying fulfilling on the 2 other points due to fear from the other 3 FMS presidents.
