Somalia’s First Precast Concrete Factory Opens

Construction in Xamar is too expensive. A G+3 building costs 3x-4x more than in Egypt. I asked my dad, he said it’s because literally everything is imported.

This new precast factory is great news. It will cut costs by 15–25% and speed up building up to 60%. A steel fab factory opened recently, and a prefab factory is coming soon, which will reduce costs even more.

Now they just need to open a cement plant to really bring prices down.

All of these buildings will multiply exponentially with better home equipment quality. Just better urban planning, in particular waste/sewage system and roads provided by the BRA and Xamar will be on its way to competing with other capitals in the region
