About 10,000 years ago in the Fertile Crescent and not long after in places like Papua New Guinea, Eastern China, the Western Sahel and three different locations in the Americas. When this happened it changed social dynamics, genetics and human culture forever everywhere in the world. We went from having a global population numbers beneath 1 million that was composed of usually "egalitarian" and small Hunter-Gatherer bands with very high genetic differentiation between each other due to their small population sizes bolstering
genetic drift and a balanced life with nature that remained sustainable for 300,000+ years to what you see now where massive migrations out of places like the Middle-East, China and
West-Africa due to how agriculture
decertifies land over-time and causes population booms changed the demographics of places like North-Africa, East-Africa, Europe, Central Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa through admixture forever and the ability to now accumulate resources started seeing more patriarchal and hierarchical societies form everywhere.
It is hard to form hierarchies as foragers because there is nothing to accumulate and exploit others with. Anyway, I'm simplifying everything but this is fairly well-known among anthropologists and being even further vindicated as of late through ancient DNA and population genetics like in the case of
Europe,
South Asia and even our own
Northeast Africa.
Before agriculture most of Europe used to be inhabited by some relatively dark-skinned, often light-eyed, highly robust Hunter-Gatherers but migrations out of the Middle-East (Anatolia) during the Neolithic helped create the "White" people you see today and why they have something of a resemblance to MENAs. South Asia used to be inhabited by
people similar in appearance to Aborigines in Australia but farmers from the Middle-East (Iran) came in and after them came pastoralist people from the Steppes in Europe bringing Indo-European. Something similar was true in SE Asia except there the invaders were farmers out of China who mixed to some extent with the local HGs and brought their more hierarchical, agriculture based culture with them. Agriculture (farming and pastoralism) literally created most of the populations you see today and their usually patriarchal and unsustainable cultures.
