The beautiful clothes. The sparklier the diraac the better.

The atmosphere, Somalis dancing and laughing, being carefree and overall happy.

The music.

The buranbuur, if you're related to either the groom or the bride, you can count on your tuulo, qabiil to be praised.

In Somali weddings every shape is welcomed, the cadaans have to starve themselves for months prior attending a Wedding as a guest but Somalis the fatter the woman is, the beautiful and sparkly her oversized diraac will be.

The unlimited xalwa.

P.s

Have you ever attended an ex's wedding?

Somali weddings are meant for 40-60 year old women, the only young people that enjoy them are either qabilists or overweight enough to push through the buranbuur circle.

Nobody actually plays buranbuur unless you're related to the bride or groom.
Secondly what Somali weddings have you attended? It's always lit!!!!!

I'm not talking about playing, buranbuur circles are often unorganized as heck, lady leading always has to tell people to back up so that everyone can see and there's enough space for people to dance in the middle. It's lit if it's actually organized.

Somali weddings are the best! I went to a Somali wedding abroad though - not saying where - and that was pretty much a disappointment. I hope it was a one-off thing because if that's how they party.. :ivers:

Anyway, here in the UK Birmingham Somali weddings are :ohhhdamn:
