Weddings used to be so big when I was a kid that I was making friends with other Somali kids from different countries, who were at the venue because their parents invited themselves to the aroos while they were in the country

I will never forget my childhood crush Anab from Stockholm, we were friends for a total of three hours having fun at the expense of the other kids or the adults lol. Then all of sudden people started rushing to catch rides out and I never saw her again. She really had me like this for years to come;

I think people are realizing there’s no point spending a lot of money on a big wedding when you can have a small cute one and save that money for the honeymoon, house/apartment, car, home appliances etc.
