Somali weddings are not as big as they used to be

I remember growing up Somali weddings had a lot of guests and many of the guests didn’t even really know the bride and groom lmaooo they just heard about a wedding happening from hebel hebel and showed up to the venue in their newest diraac

Nowadays a lot of the weddings especially with the younger generation in my city are strictly invite only so if you don’t know the bride and groom personally or you’re not a plus one you’re not coming in lmao. So this makes for a much smaller wedding

The bigger weddings were more fun as a guest but the smaller weddings seem less stressful for the couple. Has anyone else noticed this?

Technicaly i wil have my weding in xamar kk but the culture of big weding exist in xamar .
But i prefer small weding just to make things easy

Facts walal the last wedding I went to felt like an cadaan wedding just with hido iyo dhaqan. Mostly non Somali music, wedding finishing at 10pm I mean come on, where’s the culture in this lmaooo
