Somali is ancient although we borrowed these words due to influences pre colonial times , close proximity to that region and contact with the Ottomans and Omani kingdom hence it is common sense.
Yemeni dialect is the only Middle Eastern dialect that are closest to us.
I believe the Northern part of that country was somehow under the influence of Ottoman , not directly , proxy , locals governing their areas, somewhat of a trusteeship correct me if I am wrong.
