I think it’s very important we have healthy actors playing roles in these dramas. Media influences culture celebrating healthy realistic somali beauty standards is so much better then having our society folllow Bollywood and Turkish beauty standards

I would love to watch a Wild West type of movie from the 1800s somali society. The storyline should also be based on my great great grandfather’s people.

The production quality is high. They spent a lot of time and energy into this endeavor. Their creativity shows. One benefit I can see is that the young people who are obsessed with other foreign language programs can learn their mother tongue better from this.

I hope people put as much effort as this into other beneficial endeavors as well. Our people need to do things with their time other than being in front of a screen. There’s already a lot of people wasting time online.

Some Somalis back home are so used to never seeing anything good or positive from another Somali, that they refuse to believe this movie was made by a Somali person

The quality of these new Somali shows has really picked up in the last year. I think Somalia can be in a place to spread its influence through these shows, many of our neighbors would love to watch Somali shows dubbed in their own language, similar to what Turkey or South Korea have done.

The reason I say this is that Somali music is really popular among many of our neighbors, looking at all the comments on Youtube.

Good looking movies, excited for the future of Somali cinema.
