Somali politician who died from Covid19 in Mogadishu died because the elite hospital staff didn’t know how to operate a ventilator

there was a ventilator in the hospital, nobody knew how to operate it."

Can the family sue the hospital for malpractice?
sue who? We have a whole country who collapsed and these people are doing the best they can. if anything its just a reminder of how much works that needs to be done

AUN this is very sad and unfortunate, somalia needs professionals that have underwent and passed exams that deal with operating medical equipment along with other important vital skills, fail these exams and you should not be allowed to treat any patient :it0tdo8:

In an ideal world yes. But we are talking about failed state that has been completely destroyed and is being held back by power hungry greedy people. You have to have the best of what you have do the best they can. Otherwise no point in having hospitals

Now more than ever, it is important to see that we are all in this together, it is matter of time before corona becomes a serious threat to Somalia and it does not discriminate, it will kill without any care. Let's put clan politics, regionalism and all that nonsense away and work together to save lives :)

Why did they send doctors to Italy? Everybody knew it would hit Africa sooner or later, and it's not like the world's poorest country is in a more privileged position than a developed country.

The man left the UK for politiking in Somalia only to die from incompetency.

Just earlier today I remember reading about the journalist who was arrested for disclosing corruption int the distribution of ventilators. I was thinking "does anyone in Somalia even know how to intubate?"

Apparently not!

They sent 20 of those professionals to Italy becauwe apparently a first world country needed it more than them. Shows how near-sighted they are, just because they don't have a lot of cases yet they think they won't need the doctors in the future :jcoleno:
I'm getting tired of these politicians not being able to think ahead.
