My dad kept talking about rigore during the World Cup and I was like what are you talking about, turns out it means penalties in Italian:drakelaugh:
Same I really was confused. My father kept using that word. He also kept saying Portierre.

I was like f*ck it this isn't a Somali woRd. I went on Google translate and it came up as goalkeeper in Italian.:chrisfreshhah: I knew it!

Southern Somalis use a lot of Italian words when they watch football.

Jalle( yellow card)
Roso (red card)
Rigore (penalty)
Bortiyore (goalkeeper)
Arbitore(Referee)

These are more used by Northern Somalia:
Callanwalle (linesman)
Goalhaye (keeper)

I always thought Suugo was Somali :gucciwhat:
Suugo Science :gucciwhat:

All bililiqo from English

Does any Somali who speaks xamar dialect know how to spell the word for this kind of headscarf?

In waqooyi they say something like massar and in xamar we say faselletee (can't spell it). The xamar version comes from Italian

Cape Guardafui (tip of the Horn) means Look and Escape in Italian (because it's so dangerous)

The Cape Guardafui lighthouse has a fascist design :dead::
