Somali Names in the North-South

There’s a difference in many Somali names between the North and South that many people don’t realise.

For example, I’ve never heard of Southerners with these following names: Bokh, Kaahin, Houmed, Buux, Ducaale, Obsiye, Dugsiye, Rage/Raghe, Guelleh/Geele, Haybe, Alaale, Rooble, Bayle, Dirir, Geedi, Cawaale, Kayd, Ciidle, Meygaag, and Good/Goth.

My uncles called ducaale we are from the south. My forefather is called rooble. Some other names in my family line is Hilowle, Calisow, Raage and Afrax

some names unique to hawiye is Xaayow. Thats a nickname my grandfather has. Icl i dont even think thats a southerner thing thats just a hawiye thing
