Where did you hear the sun was his eye bit? I've only seen that claimed by an SNNP group in Ethiopia but can't remember which. Didn't know Somalis said that. I think that group claimed both the sun and moon were his eyes. One the right and the other left.

Benadiri have legends around sea spirits called Miraale if I remember correctly.

I think it might be related to the water jinn, Marid, not sure tho.

When I was 5, i got so scared when my neighbour told me she seen dheg dheer in Somaliland and it took some children from the tol in their sleep and they found their bones a few days later.

My ayeyo told me a story of dadqalsho eating her younger sister in baadiyo. It was very detailed that I really believed it as a kid.

I am a grown woman now and she still insists it happened to my face. I just want her to admit it was fake story.. :mjcry:
