Samaalic Era
QurboExit
Most Somalis in the Pre-Islamic era were a monotheistic people who worshiped Allah swt or in af Somali Eebe. From what we know from the Qur'an, after the time of Nuh pbuh, all the descendants of Adam over a period of time fell into shirk and disbelief. This excludes the idea that the early Somalis maintained the Tawheed of Nuh pbuh but still kept traces of the Noahic tradition. It seems Somalis learned Tawheed again from Ibrahim pbuh or through his son Ismail pbuh since Tawheed was reintroduced by Ibrahim pbuh. This also explains the Abrahamic customs that Somalis had such as:
1) Somali Calendar and timekeeping system-The seven-day week owes its origin to a reverence for the number seven in the religion of the prophets, the monotheistic messengers such as Noah and Abraham. As far as we know, excluding Somalis, the Israelites were the only people who were using a seven-day week prior to Christianity as well as the 12 month calendar.
2)Circumcision- This is an Abrahamic tradition in which Allah swt ordered Ibrahim pbuh to carry out and for his descendants and followers
3)Abtirsi- The concept of tracking your genealogy is something exclusive to the Abrahamic tradition. In other cultures, only nobles had surnames or a just a family name one adopted and kept. Only Somalis,Arabs and Israelites practiced this tradition.
