That's it? macawis is home clothing.
Somali men used to wear various outfits, for example, you will find Puntite men used to wear the traditional white cloths, one for the upper body and the other as a macawiis, the "hersi" necklace and a weapon.
Then you have the men from the ruling families, who wore turbans and long robes. There are also traders who wore certain clothing.
Anyway, at some point in history, Somalis decided to import the Asian macawiis, Omani Hat and look confused.

For real though, can Somalis stop wearing that Asian macawiis to cultural events, looking like a hindi labourer. What's hard about finding a beautiful white cloth
