Afwayne rejected calls for his resignation many, many times. To suddenly offer handing power to Xuseen Kulmiye when USC was hot on his tails is like when Fircawn begged for respite whilst drowning in the red sea. :drakelaugh:

That's not how politics works, you can't bargain when you have lost.

Mudane i have 1 question for you and be as honest as possible, why did Afwayne attempt to come back twice? I never understood what he was trying to achieve here, there is not a single leader in the modern era who has ever done this before.

Do you not agree that had he walked away, he would have saved his Darod kin from more bloodshed and saved some of his reputation?

We would've left. Had this nigga Caydiid not made it a Darood vs Hawiye BS. MJ elites sided with y'all and then you killed them. OGs as well. You forced Darood unity. Caydiid controlled vast land and had MX on ropes. We regrouped and said F it. All sides made strategic blunders. That I can admit. But Siad Barre been gone for 30 years. He's a dead horse to beat on. Does he merit some faults? Yes. But he's not to blame for all the ills we've been through the last 3 decades. That's a cop out.

I don't personally blame him for the last 30 years, that would be silly. It is debatable as to who made it a clan war. Some say USC leaders didn't do enough to stop the onslaught, some say Afwayne himself turned it into a clan war by distributing flyers, shelling Hawiye neighbourhood's, releasing Darod prisoners to fight the Hawiye etc.

Lol the Mj and OGs helped Afwayne escape, they deserve every bit of smoke for that double dealing. They may have disliked him but they wouldn't side with Hawiye if they had a choice sxb. We all know about the ergo Daarood of the 80s, you can't fool me with this BS.

Omar Jess siding with you means nothing? We'll never agree on this and it's Ramadan. Up this after Eid.

"Another issue that is of particular concern to us and so deeply distresses us is the case of the National Army and the extent to which it has been reduced to an instrument to monopolize power and serve the political and tribal interests of the regime. It has also been used as an instrument of oppression of the Somali people.

The high purpose for which the National Army was created by the fast freely elected government was to defend our national sovereignty and to serve our national interest as a professional body, above political, tribal and personal interests. The Somali people had very high hopes in the National Army and gave their limited resources, paid a high price by giving its creation a top priority over badly needed social and economic developments.

Contrary to any sense of justice, the regime has placed its own political power and tribal interest above that of the whole nation by corrupting the army and involving it in party politics and tribal interests and promoting the officer corps on the basis of political and tribal loyalty as opposed to the traditional promotional system based on "professional merits" as it used to be in the past, under the command of the late General Da'ud Abdulle Hersi during the democratic civilian government prior to October, 1969.

The irresponsible, egoistic and power hungry instrumentalization of the National Army in order to maintain dictatorial power and tribal interest has reduced the National Army to the point where it has lost all inspect and credibility in the eyes of the Somali people. It has now practically disintegrated into tribal factions, sadly and painfully as this may sound to all sensible Somalis. "
