South Africa has essentially destroyed its connections with fellow Africans; other Southern Africans (Namibians & such) are also subject to attacks, so South Africa seems to be gripped with xenophobia.

Like all African 'Governments', the ANC has failed the people of South Africa in political and economic terms; economic downturns always create these conditions.

They have a scorn for other africans in SA because they feel like they’re better than them since these africans want to come to their country. But in reality it’s because of what the whites have built lmao.

Apparently taxi drivers/owners are feared in South Africa and they operate like a gang. They were brought in to subdue the recent looting spree.

They regularly kill and beat up passengers and uber drivers too.

A Somali got into an accident with a taxi driver and got attacked by them. Somalis in the area defended him and set a taxi rank on fire .

This is unheard of in South Africa and they're losing it on Twitter with "Somalians" trending nr 1 since yesterday.

The fear and hatred that South Africans have for us is unmatched despite Somalis being very low key in that hell hole.

Makes me almost sympathise with the Apartheid regime.

The Somali guy is an Uber driver , the day if the incident he was parking in front of a South African taxi , while reversing he accidentally bumped into the taxi breaking it's mirror and few scratches.
The taxi driver demanded compensation to the damages , the reckless Somali got into a heated argument, even when the taxi driver tried to look at his plate , the Somali clutched his keys to drive away , he was caught up in the midst.
The taxi driver took his hammer and smashes his vehicle.

The Somali was told to pay for the damages , he got into a fistfight and later on shit got out of control.
The Somali overpowered him , beating the taxi driver to a pulp.

He then drove off and that is where the problems unfold.
The taxi driver and his acquaintances armed , began targeting random Somalis.
They retaliated burning two Somali taxis , the Somalis burnt twelve taxis.
Gunfires were heard , both sides are saying two different things.

The situation on the ground doesn't look good , I explained this on my thread.

As I am writing , we are dreading because another murder can take place thanks to one irresponsible individual.

Yes you don't f*ck with Taxi drivers , have you heard of the Taxis wars in Khayelitsha and Alexandra , deadlier than gang members.

I got into many encounters with taxi drivers ,
they are serious road traffic abusers , drunks and drug addicted they contribute to 80 % of deadly car crashes , it is why I drive with a motorcycle and drive fast.

Get on the wrong side of these taxi drivers they can kidnap family members , demanding ransom , facetiming as you watch them torture.
Not people you would f*ck with even if they're in the wrong.
That is common here , they are the roads.
And there you have it , the consequences , Somalis are getting killed because of one stupid idiotic reckless driver.

During my early years residing in that township, I've witnessed those type of harassment every month , angry mobs swarming at our shop , breaking and looting , telling us to pack our bags and leave , my memories of Soweto are good , bad and saw the ugly side of it.

It hasn't changed much , it is worse today , the crimes are higher.
But there is a mosque , dugsi and a large Somali presence compared 15 years ago.

This is sad indeed , I remember my life in Diepsloot wasn't great either.
Until I moved to the townships in Western Cape and Cape town itself.
Things are different here , Xenophobia does exist , not on par with the rest of the provinces , the crimes however are worrisome , you have to be able to navigate through the craziness.

This is true , we are told to leave but Somalis are displaced by their own countrymen, many would risk their lives that is how bad the situation back home is.
