Anyone seen this guy? I hear people calling him cheap Zohran, and he doesn't help his case with the style he's using rn to push his message

Regardless I hope he wins, more muslims in public office = greater representation and political clout for us.

He's not Somali? For real?

Mussab Ali was born in Lahore, Pakistan, and moved to Jersey City, New Jersey, with his family in 2000.[2] His mother taught in local schools and his father worked as a postal worker.[3] Ali's parents experienced discrimination, harassment, and job loss which motivated his interest in civil rights.[4] Ali graduated from McNair Academic High School[5] and earned dual bachelor's degrees in economics and biology from Rutgers University in 2019, where he was named a Harry S. Truman Scholar in 2017.[4][6]

What the hell's going on in Lahore? Isn't Lahore Punjabi land? Those guy's tend to be pretty light-skinned.

I suspected as much. I had a Pakistani friend back in Dubai during my undergrad days who looked South-Indian/Horner-ish and I actually remembered wondering why he looked different from the Pathan, Punjabi and even Sindhi descent Pakistanis I was used to until he explained, without my prompting, that he wasn't ancestrally from Pakistan and that his Muslim ancestors migrated over from deeper in India around the time of the partition.

Punjabi is a more regional/linguistic identity I’m told, it’s a new identity formed around the 17-18th century, the people in the Punjab attribute their race or ethnic origins to their individual castes.

but I think this fellow is a post 47 partition muhajir, which would explain a lot, they are quite mobile/economically prosperous/educated.
