What have Somali people invented that is gainful for humankind? The only thing I can think of is the "portable" phone attached to the ear between Somali womens ears and the scarf they're wearing...

:draketf: How sad to hide behind another ethnicity

It’s okay to feel things Abowe. Don’t be buried in self hate
And there’s nothing wrong with being who you are. I’m very accepting of your people <3
Awe

that’s cute and all but I don’t know if I feel the same way.

Anywho, good luck with that attitude!

Exactly, not much left to invent

I love how OP makes a big deal out of Somalis not inventing anything world altering. That literally puts us with most of humanity. Not even the Brainy Asians contributed much to the modern world.

Somali coastal areas would've had some inventions is my opinion. Sea-faring people come into way more contact with various people and pick up more knowledge through it then some sedentary farmer who is limited in his world scope by his geographic circumstances. I am not saying farmers don't create, yes they would as they are settled what else would they do if their food source is covered? sit there and play hop-scotch? But we don't give much credit to sea-faring folks or coastal communities for some reason.

That's why sedentary folks tend to be so racist or backwards in farming settlements or rural areas, they don't know any better then their environment and you see similar behaviors in Somalia if you look closely at the agriculture communities they really un-accepting of new foreign ideas beyond their own knowledge or even peoples.

I think the nomad through his travels would make him knowledgeable also as he encounters various groups and ways of life, that's the only reason I can explain why they don't war as much compared to settled farmers. The level of stability among nomads is quite unique and surprises me and if their isn't a hand involved from the sedentary folks in the cities who take their beef and spreads it to a tribal one, they live quite fine with each other and travel freely through the nomadic setting without fear and that's any tribe really.

But let's give some props to coastal folks and nomads, the travellers. Notice how the nomads say gaal dil and gartisa si, these guys already knew how to handle people with differing religious views, try being any different in terms or religion in a farming community and see what happens to you loooooooool. Their is that saying, travellers are far more well informed then people who sit in one area plus we know coastal folks are far more friendlier then non coastal anywhere you go in the world you will see this.

The Nomad would make for a far better leader then a farmer in my opinion. I think the farmer would be a good worker though as long as you keep the tasks 'conservative' and within what he knows. A nomad will tackle different challenges as he encounters it through his travels. Notice our philosophy, poetry, and proverbs are dominated by them, it's far more sophisticated then anjeero siday uu kala koraysa loo cuna loooooool because that's all they can take their mind too, it's wat within their farming settlement and the differences within that specific location, not that huge geographic reach the nomad would encounter and I suspect coastal folks would be the same.

A nomad or seafarer is accustomed to change and differences, a farmer simply isn't. It's an edge sxb, whether we wanna accept it or not.

Your posts are too long.

Then simple, don't read it!!! I don't mind long stuff when it's actually engaging and has substance, it's just when it doesn't. It's like your two line sentences, a 5 year old probably could even beat you.
