The country has been in turmoil for 30 years. Name another country that has gone through a civil for that long. Rwanda had theirs after us (1994) and look at them now. It was worse as it was two different ethnic groups fighting. For us, we're literally the same (aside from clan stuff).

Long wars aren't exactly uncommon. The Kayin (Karen nationalists) state civil war in Myanmar is still the longest running civil war. You could probably pick through hundreds, somalia's problem is the level of damage it caused namely the collapse of a government.

Until someone instills some level of nationalism or forcefully pulls the country along Soviet style then I don't see anything changing. If the war on terror is given up then I'm guessing Somalia will probably follow a similar path to Afghanistan where Islamists take over the country.

somalia is like afghanistan. the concept of a nation state is foreign to the masses. clan/tuulo/degmo is their country instead. and the somali masses are armed too. meeshu waxay noqotay freakshow.

Somaliland and Puntland need to become independent from Southern Somalia it's impossible to build with southerners. Then we can form a Somali union after things calm down in the south. This is the only solution! Nationalism will not save Somalia it already failed under Barre.

That is not true at all. There is no middle class in Somalia. The really poor are dying of starvation. You have a parasitic class, poor, IDPs and famine.
